　　today, as people live a better life, they chase for more enjoyment. we can see from the news that when the holiday comes, there are so many people gather in the scenery site. people like to travel today, they can take a plane, take the bus or even take a bike. on my opinion, the best way to travel is by train. first, it is very cheap. compare with other ways, such as plane and bus, train is less expensive, people can save a lot of money. besides, taking the train is much safer. people don’t have to worry about crush, which is more happen in the plane or bus. second, we can enjoy the scenery in the train. though the train is very slow, we can have a good sight of the beautiful scenery, when we go to tibet, we can see different colors and different mountains during the trip. taking the train is the best way to travel.

　　to protect the environment is fashion. if you don't use the plastic bags and do something to protect our earth, you are fashionable.

　　you know, you know, we started this great effort on a sunny july morning in pinders corner on pat and liz moynihan's beautiful farm and 62 counties, 16 months, 3 debates, 2 opponents, and 6 black pantsuits later, because of you, here we are.

　　you came out and said that issues and ideals matter, jobs matter, downstate and upstate, health care matters, education matters, the environment matters, social security matters, a woman's right to choose matters. it all matters and i just want to say from the bottom of my heart, thank you, new york!

　　thank you for opening up your minds and your hearts, for seeing the possibility of what we could do together for our children and for our future here in this state and in our nation. i am profoundly grateful to all of you for giving me the chance to serve you.

　　i will - i will do everything i can to be worthy of your faith and trust and to honor the powerful example of senator daniel patrick moynihan. i would like all of you and the countless new yorkers and americans watching to join me in honoring him for his incredible half century of service to new york and our nation. senator moynihan, on behalf of new york and america, thank you.

　　i promise you tonight that i will reach across party lines to bring progress for all of new york's families. today we voted as democrats and republicans. tomorrow we begin again as new yorkers.

　　and how fortunate we are indeed to live in the most diverse, dynamic and beautiful state in the entire union. you know, from the south bronx to the southern tier, from brooklyn to buffalo, from montauk to massena, from the world's tallest skyscrapers to breathtaking mountain ranges, i've met people whose faces and stories i will never forget. thousands of new yorkers from all 62 counties welcomed to me into your schools, your local diners, your factory floors, your living rooms and front porches. you taught me, you tested me and you shared with me your challenges and concerns - about overcrowded or crumbling schools, about the struggle to care for growing children and aging parents, about the continuing challenge of providing equal opportunity for all and about children moving away from their home towns because good jobs are so hard to find in upstate new york. now i've worked on issues like these for a long time, some of them for 30 years, and i am determined to make a difference for all of you.

　　you see, i believe our nation owes every responsible citizen and every responsible family the tools that they need to make the most of their own lives. that's the basic bargain. i'll do my best to honor in the united states senate.

　　and to those of you who did not support me, i want you to know that i will work in the senate for you and for all new yorkers. and to those of you who worked so hard and never lost faith even in the toughest times, i offer you my undying gratitude.

　　camp was more like a keg party without any alcohol. and on the very first day our counselor gathered us all together and she taught us a cheer that she said we would be doing every day for the rest of the summer to instill camp spirit. and it went like this: “r-o-w-d-i-e, that's the way we spell rowdie. rowdie, rowdie, let's get rowdie.“ yeah. so i couldn't figure out for the life of me why we were supposed to be so rowdy, or why we had to spell this word incorrectly. (laughter) but i recited a cheer. i recited a cheer along with everybody else. i did my best. and i just waited for the time that i could go off and read my books.

　　but the first time that i took my book out of my suitcase, the coolest girl in the bunk came up to me and she asked me, “why are you being so mellow?“ -- mellow, of course, being the exact opposite of r-o-w-d-i-e. and then the second time i tried it, the counselor came up to me with a concerned expression on her face and she repeated the point about camp spirit and said we should all work very hard to be outgoing.

　　and so i put my books away, back in their suitcase, and i put them under my bed, and there they stayed for the rest of the summer. and i felt kind of guilty about this. i felt as if the books needed me somehow, and they were calling out to me and i was forsaking them. but i did forsake them and i didn't open that suitcase again until i was back home with my family at the end of the summer.

　　英语素质教育的教学中，优化课堂教学模式是重点，也是实施素质教育主渠道。然而，要实现优化课堂教学，这就要求我们教师应做到优化教学目标的制定，优化课堂教学的设计，优化教学方法的组合等，通过优化课堂教学模式，以达到实施素质教育的目的。课前演讲就是其中一例。课前演讲是现阶段高中英语课堂教学中被普遍采用的一种课前热身活动，是集中学生注意力，激发学生学习兴趣，提高学生听说能力，发挥学生主观能动性，使其积极参与课堂活动的重要途径。也是当前以教师为主导，学生为主体的新型教育教学理念在常规课堂教学当中的有力体现。

　　1.从思维角度看

　　根据美国著名认知教育心理学家布鲁纳的认知—发现学习说，以培养探究性思维方法为目标，学生利用教材或教师提供的条件自己独立思考，自行发现知识，掌握原理和学习规律，在求知过程中逐步获取自己的知识。课前演讲的过程就是学生积极参与，自主学习的过程。前期选材中，学生在其所阅读过的报刊或杂志当中有针对性地选出一篇难度适中，文本内容健康向上的英语文章。这不仅要求学生平时养成良好的阅读习惯，勤记笔记，勤写读书心得；善于利用英汉或英英词典等工具书来查阅一些文章中出现的生词或比较陌生的表达。很好得做到“有疑必查，有查必记，有记必用”，在循序渐进的学习过程中不断积累英文单词的读音、释义以及用法，为日后提高阅读技能水平奠定基础。此外，学生准备课前演讲材料的有意识行为活动也能在一定程度上激发学生的'想象思维和联想能力。让学生透过无生命的文本，去深层次感受文章的血肉和灵魂，从而与作者产生思想和感情上的共鸣。

　　2.从心理角度看

　　中学阶段的学生一般处于青春发育期，生理发育同时，心理也在不断变化与发展。笔者发现在平时的课堂教学过程中，大多数高中学生已经抛弃了初中生的鲁莽和冒失，他们在思想上存在过多的顾虑，高傲和自卑并存，不喜欢踊跃回答老师提出的问题，而是选择保持沉默，用眼神和动作来回应老师，这无疑会对学

　　今天我的主题是更加文明地迎接世博会

　　众所周知，下一届世博会将于21日在上海举行。我们家乡将有成千上万的游客，那么我们应该如何表现我们的礼貌呢？当然，我们所有人都喜欢表现出我们的良好举止，所以我们应该注意我们的日常习俗，中国是一个历史悠久的.传统国家。年轻人应该向世界展示我们的中国文化和良好的举止。说起来容易做起来难，我们大多数人都不知道。有时他们到处扔垃圾，红灯时过马路。虽然他们知道这些行为不好，但他们仍然这样做。我希望我们每个人都能参加这个社会实践。我们应该好好表现自己，尊重我们的老师等等，努力向世界展示我们最好的礼貌。

　　我认为，我们在日常生活中应该遵循以下三点：

　　第一：保持我们的衣服干净整洁，过多的化妆对我们来说看起来不自然。

　　第二：要遵守古语：看不见邪恶，听不见邪恶，说不出邪恶。

　　第三：我们应该对别人有礼貌，尤其是对外国人。当世博会到来时，会有很多外国人，我们可以向他们展示友好，我们可以向他们展示方法，我认为我们的笑脸也是必要的。

　　摘要：“教学艺术不在于传授，而在于激励、唤醒、鼓励。”心理学家也表明：学生如果对学习对象产生兴趣，他们就会自觉排除多种外界因素和心理因素的干扰，集中注意力，积极、主动地进行学习，并把学习当作一种愉快的享受，而不是一种负担。因此，导课的艺术性显得尤为重要。根据初中学生爱说、爱动，善于模仿，记忆力强，有强烈的竞争意识和表现欲，喜欢尝试把学到的语言材料随机进行对话、复述和表演的特点，我常开展课前5分钟演讲活动。

　　开展“课前5分钟演讲”活动，精讲多练，逐步培养和提高英语口头表达能力，这是我根据多年的教学实践总结出的较为切实有效的教学方法。

　　在课堂上，讲正课前，让3-5位同学在讲台上进行演讲，最好是脱稿演讲，效果更为理想。它不仅训练了同学们的英语口头表达能力，增强了记忆，锻炼了大家的胆识，而且对于同学们养成良好的学习习惯，树立起自立、自尊，培养正确的人生观，都有着不可分割的潜移默化的作用，真可谓是一举多得。

　　刚开始搞这项活动时，同学们大多是针对课本上的有关篇章段落进行演讲。同学们都表演得绘声绘色、生动传神。本来这些文章虽然写得很好很实际，但对刚刚接触不久的同学们来说，还是比较难记难背的。于是在课下，我交代一部分同学演讲时用这些课文做材料，而另一部分未作部署。

　　结果，事先交代的这部分同学仅仅用了10多分钟便背诵得相当熟了；而另一部分未作部署的同学则用了30多分钟才会背诵。这表明：课前5分钟演讲不仅能够快速而有效地提高英语口头表达能力，而且还能够增强记忆力，提高记忆效果和学习成绩。演讲过的内容，记忆深刻，过去了很长时间，仍然能够记忆犹新，能够背诵。经过一段时间的演讲训练之后，同学们的口头表达能力、语音语调和书面表达能力都有了很大程度的提高；同时，同学们说话时的'体态表情、手势也自然大方，不再是脸红、心跳、语无伦次等忸忸怩怩的样子。

　　后来，我又鼓励同学们到课外英语报刊杂志或上网搜集演讲材料，以更好地培养他们的学习兴趣，提高他们的表达能力和阅读能力。于是同学们找来了大量的英语小短文，如诗歌、寓言、故事，甚至还有科普小品文等等。演讲的内容也更加多样化了。：有的演讲Thetigerandthemonkey,有的演讲Astealerandapoliceman，有的演讲Differentcountriesdifferentweather……内容很是丰富多彩，极大地启迪了同学们的思维，课堂气氛极为活跃，学习效果甚是理想。

　　演讲的形式讲究多样化：可以由老师随机点名找同学上台演讲，这是基本形式。也可以由台上演讲者点名上台演讲，这是一种比较灵活且效果相当好的方法。还可以把同学们分成左右两排或前后两排或前后左右四队或以组分成多个队排，每个队排分别找若干名同学上台演讲，以演讲比赛的形式，看那个队能够夺魁，摘取桂冠。夺魁的冠军队要掌声鼓励或发给小红旗希望再接再厉，争取更大的胜利。这种演讲形式是最好的形式，演讲时采用这种方法，同学们激情顿起，兴趣高昂，尽头十足，效果出奇的好。

　　通过课前5分钟演讲，同学们的英语水平增长很快，阅读能力相当强，有力地配合了我的课堂教学。人教版新教材中有很多篇章段落都是以情景对话的形式出现的，有两人或三人甚至更多人进行对话的。不管有多少人的对话，有了同学们的5分钟演讲，同学们的英语水平、会话能力就会提高；有了高水平的会话能力，就能更好、更有力地促进教学工作。在课堂上，我可以随机叫几位同学和我对话，做示范表演，效果相当理想。我的教学工作也相当轻松顺利，能够圆满地达到教学目的，教学效果喜人。许多同学还在各级演讲比赛中获奖了，比赛中同学们流利的口语、准确的语音语调、恰当的表情手势赢得了观众的好评。同时，同学们有了良好的英语基础、高昂的学习英语的兴趣以及广泛的阅读，笔试成绩也是令人满意的，次次测评在平行班中名列前茅，效果极为理想。

　　总之，通过丰富多彩的课前5分钟表演，不仅能够增强学生学习英语的自信心，调动学生学习的积极性，使学生在轻松愉快的氛围中学习英语，还有助于对学生进行思想品德教育，培养团结互助的精神，促进学生的全面发展。
