Kelly Clarkson是获得过格莱美奖的美国流行音乐歌手，第一位美国偶像冠军。Kelly胜出比赛后于2003年推出首张专辑《Thankful》。此专辑空降Billboard专辑榜专辑，并取得双白金销量。其后在2004年推出第二张专辑《Breakaway》，并凭借此专辑和其中的单曲"Since U Been Gone"获得格莱美最佳流行专辑和最佳流行女歌手两项大奖。此专辑在美国取得六白金销量，全球销量超过千万。于2007年6月推出第三张专辑《My December》。在2009年年初发行第四张录音室专辑《All I Ever Wanted》。第五张录音室专辑《Stronger》于2011年10月24日正式发行。
创作背景
《Stronger》的灵感来自Radiohead、Prince、蒂娜·特纳、艾瑞莎·弗兰克林和雪儿·克罗。凯莉·克莱森表示，这张专辑十分贴近她的心灵，是一张概念专辑。她不想将爱情作为人生中唯一的事情，希望通过这张专辑和听众分享她的感情经历，更希望和听众探讨更多的情感内容，比如渗透到人们生活中的积极向上的正能量，借以鼓励听众积极向上。她认为，专辑更多地讲述了力量与坚强的故事，所以将专辑命名为“stronger”（直译为更勇敢）。
2011年3月份，凯莉·克莱森就完成了《Stronger》的录制，但没有立刻发行。2011年7月初，《Stronger》的5支曲目在互联网上泄露，她对此并不介意，只是希望听众能够喜欢这些歌曲。最终根据情况，她认为10月份是《Stronger》的最好时期。
