早在1974年初，在广大的Pink乐迷中开始流传着一部外包装精美，名为《British Winter Tour'74》的非正式专辑(估计是从乐队供小范围试听的小样拷贝得来的)，里面收录了乐队新创作的三首歌曲“Raving and Drooling”、 “Gotta Be Crazy”与“Shine On You Crazy Diamond”。大家普遍认为它是乐队未来的新专辑。但最终只有“Shine On You Crazy Diamond”被收录进《Wish You Were Here》专辑，其它两首后来则被改编收录在两年后出版的《Animal》专辑里面。不过在他们举行的名为《Wish You Were Here》的75巡回演唱会中还特别表演了这两首曲目。《Wish You Were Here》专辑中收录了包括《Welcome To The Machine》在内的5首歌曲。
